Weekly Report #26 “The Human Atlas” (Week of April 1, 2024)

I had a meeting with my mentor this week to talk about the confusion I had between the difference of the expressions of the gene SLC34 A2 and the transporter it codes for, NPT2b. I learned that there might be external factors that are causing the change in the expression, and I was thinking that maybe we could research this and see what factors may be causing the change. Additionally, we discussed the next steps for our project and decided to observe what other transporters, especially ion channels, are there in lung adenocarcinoma cells. So, I thought that since I won’t be able to finish a research paper by the end of the semester, I could make a log on ion channels and submit that as my final product, as it would help my future research and build my current knowledge too. I was also thinking of writing a report o this log to show what we can observe with the log.

Other than working on ISM, I finally finished my boxing/fitness classes and am hoping to join another class that is more focused on boxing competitions. I am extremely excited and am hoping to start by next week. Other than that, I’ve been feeling kind of lazy. After the spring break I was feeling productive but because of the 4 day weekend, everything has become weird. Although, I think after a few days I’ll be fine as it’s only the 1st day after the break.
