#11: “Need of an Expanded Focus” (Week of 6th November 2023)

This week I was a mix of getting tired and having fun. I celebrated Halloween by seeing the movie “Get Out”, and it wasn’t extremely scary or anything but I still liked it as it was a nice thriller. I didn’t want to waste time seeing anything because I wanted to study, but I kind of gave up and just wanted to enjoy a bit that day because everyone needs to have some alone time. I dressed up with my friends as the Powerpuff Girls and got some candy too, so that was fun. I had multiple SAT classes this week, and my entire focus went towards that. I took the SAT on November 4th, and I feel like I messed up on 2 questions in the Math section and 1 in the Writing section. Hopefully, I didn't make too many silly mistakes, but we’ll just have to see. I got a bit sad after seeing my PSAT scores because I thought that I would do way better, but that motivated me to study more because it doesn’t matter how much I got in the PSAT as what’s done is done, now what matters is what I do with that score. Because I  focused so much on the SAT, I didn’t focus as much on my actual schoolwork, which is again my time management problem coming back to me. I didn’t write my English Essay that well, and I couldn’t finish my History Scrapbook assignment well either. I feel that the Essay was good for learning, but the Scrapbook was just a waste of time. I know that it’s a different way of learning, but seeing 5 sources for an assignment, studying for a test, and making a digital and then physical copy of a scrapbook which included making your songs is just too much for one class. I also couldn’t focus enough time on ISM, although I did get 2 more interviews, they haven’t confirmed the timings yet so I will get back to them tomorrow. Next week I’m going to put my focus on Acdec due to the Irving competition(I want to try to get 1st in scholastic), and ISM because I do want to learn from my topic. I will try my best to work hard!
